Hopetoun Tea Rooms

Lauren came to visit Thali and I a month ago or so. We decided that having a visitor was occasion enough to try out the tea rooms. Originally we were going to go to passionflower, but they ended up being closed. Half our luck really.

I may or may not have ordered two pieces of cake, they cost roughly the same int he end as Lauren and Thali's crepes though. I got a triple chocolate cheese cake and shared the lemon tart with the others. Actually we waited for maybe almsot an hour until we asked the waitress where our food was- she had forgotten to put in our order!

When we asked the waitress she was incredibly kind! She'd forgotten to put our order in, and to make up for it offered us a free drink. We had already had a pot of tea each though. I was however tempted by the milkshake on someone elses table and Thali got another pot of tea. It was a special occasion after all. Of a fashion anyway.

Everything was delicious. I just, had too much! The milkshake was the last straw, my stomach told me it was time to take a nap. We had to go on to the museum however. Alas, no nap.

I liked the tea rooms so much, I have resolved to take everyone there. Even if it's just because I want cake. My friend Hiro told me that one of his Japanese friends was coming to Melbourne to study English. We're going to take her sometime.

There's always time for cake, right?

Grilled Sandwiches

The internet inspired me to make these; avocado and fried egg grilled cheese sandwiches. Well they were pan fried sandwiches, we don't have a griller. Thali loved hers, me though? Not so much. I guess I really can't love avocado next time I'll just put only a little on mine or omit it all together (maybe I'll have bacon or ham and completely defeat the point!).

It's pretty simple, really. Fry an egg the way you like it, slice up some avocado and cheese. Make a sandwich and .. grill it! Or just have it as a sandwich, I guess. That's up to you.

There are so many foods I don't like, I wonder how I eat at all ...

Shopping!

A cute summer dress and a sturdy winter coat from Forever New. The dress has a gradient paisley pattern and the coat is made from the softest fabric and has been keeping me wonderfully warm on these cold autumn days.

Have you bought anything new lately?

Passionflower

After reading a suggestion on the Australian lolita community about sweets places in Melbourne and discovering passionflower, I suggested to Thali that we should try it out! They have a lot of different and interesting flavours of ice cream and do up the sweetest parfaits. We tried to cookies and cream themed parfait. It was delicious!

Do you have a favourite place to go for sweets?
